Silica is an unbound silica gel packing, which is the most polar positive phase adsorbent. It can retain the polar compounds in the sample, especially the polar compounds with similar structure.

Florisil agricultural grade Florisil
Extraction of pesticide residues

Activated at 675 ° C, Florisil is a kind of porous adsorbent with strong polarity and high activity, which can adsorb target compounds with low polarity and medium polarity, such as organic pesticides containing chlorine, nitrogen and phosphorus.
Florisil column was used in EPA 608 and NY / T 761 by Chinese Ministry of agriculture.
It is good for most pesticides and has low cost of retention and use

Alumina (ALA, AlN, ALB)
Extraction of aromatic amines

The surface electron of porous alumina with high activity can interact with aromatic ring to form ππ π, which has strong polarity retention ability and Lewis acid characteristics. Compared with unbound silica gel, alumina is more stable in high pH environment and suitable for the extraction of aromatic amines.
After special treatment, alumina has three types of acid (ALA), neutral (AlN) and alkaline (ALB), which can match different target compounds.

Diol diol group
It can be used as a positive or reverse column to extract polar compounds

The glycol based packing is similar to silica gel in retention performance and weak acidity, and the carbon chain provides additional hydrophobic effect, so it can be used as a positive phase or reverse phase adsorbent.
If silica gel column is used, the acidity of silica gel will lead to the retention of basic impurities, and diol column can be used instead.
It can replace silica gel column and avoid interference of alkaline impurities

PSA ethylenediamine-n-propyl
Retain strong acid, polar compound and metal ion, suitable for purifying food matrix

Similar to NH2, PSA has weak cation exchange and positive phase retention. PSA has two amino groups (PKA is 10.1 and 10.9 respectively), which provide more ion exchange capacity and can extract polar compounds by hydrogen bond. In addition, PSA can retain some metal ions by forming complexes with metal ions.

The NH2 (aminopropyl) bonding phase has strong polar adsorption in nonpolar organic solvent and weak anion exchange retention in aqueous solution.
